In your life, where have you seen hope emerge from difficulty?

In my 20's I prayed very specifically for the qualities I hoped for in a husband; this included the "request" for an "adventurous" husband. The Holy Spirit was certainly preparing me for life with Bill Plunkett! As a Houston police officer, Bill was shot on Oct 27, 1988 while pursuing three car thieves. I was 8 months pregnant and we had a 1 year old. God took over immediately. He showed me He was in control no matter how chaotic or uncertain my circumstances were. Bill was even able to use his experience to train cadets at the Police Academy.

How has God used specific people to bring you to this point in your faith journey?

Have any of these people been unexpected?

I love this question! Especially the "unexpected" part. Yes, God has graciously shown His love through three ladies in our church, ages 32 to 96! All three of these sweet souls lost children to illness or accident. I can't imagine losing a child. These ladies have persevered in faith and openly displayed their trust in God's plans. I admire each one of them! They live, laugh and love, confident all the while that their loved ones are in God's arms. Faith in action!

What has “All My Hope” revealed to you about the nature of church family? How has this challenged some of the “typical” ways we view church community?

Church Family: not just on Sunday, not just in Church, not just when it is convenient. That has been a true joy about my Fredonia Hill family. It's not about age, race, political views, or who's better than who. More about how God uses us in small ways, big ways, unexpected ways to encourage and love each other. Not just "church friends" but "7-days-a-week" friends!

What has “All My Hope” revealed to you about the nature of church family? How has this challenged some of the “typical” ways we view church community?

I see God breaking through what our eyes see and turning inward to what our hearts see. I see people reaching to our church family like they would their own immediate family members, and naturally, not for show. That kind of caring is certainly magnified to our community and others can see what God's love looks like.
